Two times the cuteness { Utah newborn photographer}
Well I just have to share a few more of the sweetest twin baby girls. We ended up shooting this whole session outside, I loved it! I got to use my new vintage red cradle and tried a bit of new editing on a few pictures. Anyways, I had a blast! Congratulations on your new little love bugs, they are so adorable!

Looking for some fresh new faces!! Updated!
So here's the deal. I'm on the search for some fresh new faces to photograph. What does that mean? I'm looking to build my portfolio in a few areas and want to put out a model search for certain specific clients. What is it I'm looking for? Check out the list below. Please be aware that with these sessions I will require that a model release be signed so I can publish (on my blog or website) pictures from your session. All sessions will take place at the location and time of my choice. I will also be looking for those that will be willing to go along with my artistic vision of the session. You will receive the session free of charge with a free mounted 8x10 a $160 value! (with the option to purchase images on disc or prints at regular price, please email me for details). I will only be offering the free session and discount to the first person who books with me for each category, so all spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks!

I'm Ok (:
I have to say I think it's so sweet that I have gotten emails and comments asking where I've been. Well, first I've just been on the down low enjoying time with my family and daughter. We took her to my daughter to see Playhouse Disney last weekend and she was in heaven, Mickey is her favorite!! And I've had my brothers family here and also my parents here twice in the last 3 weeks. So I've had a refreshing break from my computer.
But for now I have a few I took of my daughter before I sent my camera off, she's such a sweetie, but man oh man these were so hard, she would not sit still for two seconds, until I put the fan on her and then she stayed for maybe 5 seconds, and then she peed her pants, which of course was traumatizing for her, poor little thing..... so all in all the shoot lasted about 4 minutes and 30 seconds, gotta love 2 year olds.... I know I love mine!! (:
I'm still working on what I'd like my pictures to look like for studio work. I do like these but they are still not where I would like them to be. It's been a fun challenge to work with studio light, so so very different from natural light. But I'm always up for a challenge!

Words to live by......
Run around with them. They love it.
Sit and cuddle your kids as much as you can.
Make sure everyone knows how much you love them.
Sometimes you never have the chance to tell them again.
Don't sweat the small stuff. Some things just don't matter.
They mean something, but they really don't matter.
Hold yourself accountable.
Remember that everyone has a bad day once and a while. Just like you.
Don't get offended. Assume that whomever said it, just didn't get it out right.
Give others a break. We are all fighting our own battles.
Remember that people aren't always going to remember what you said,
But they will always remember how you made them feel. Make them feel special.
There are too many people out there who need someone really bad. Be that someone.
Sometimes all someone needs is a shoulder to cry on.
Give it to them and really listen. Don't keep your distance.
We are all supposed to be taking care of each other.
Life isn't about us, it's about everyone else.
Sometimes the simplest things to you, mean the world to someone else.
Give it to them.
Live by example.
Have Faith.
Remember . . . Life is Good.

What's your favorite picture from 2008??
Holy cow......where did the last year go?? Really, what happened to 2008. I am completely convinced that the older I get the years just pass by twice as fast as they used to. 2008 has been a fabulous year for me, really it has! I have learned sooooo much since I purchased my first DSLR camera last Dec. I have always been a very artistic person and have really been a jack of all trades when it comes to art. But I have finally found my medium, the most perfect art for me. Photography has not only captured my attention, focus and drive, it has captured my soul. My camera has become an extension of my eyes and mind. I see the world through a photographers eyes now. My grandmother is an amazing photographer and I have always admired her beautiful photographs. Since I have become completely obsessed by photography myself we have had a handful of conversations about seeing the world through a photographers eyes. We both have said how hard it is to even drive down the street on most days without seeing something that is worthy of a picture. Whether it be a beautiful sky, an old barn, or frost on a tree branch early in the morning. The world we live is amazingly beautiful, and I am so blessed that I have found a true passion that allows me to capture so many moments of beauty. And it is just so awesome to be able to capture amazing memories for my clients that will help to tell their life stories. I often tell people if you really want to appreciate the world we live in, view it through a camera. You'll start seeing things you never would have really noticed before.
And because I too have many favorites from 2008 I thought I would leave you with a handful of those pictures that moved me in some way. I know I've left a bunch out but I just grabbed some quick. There is something in all of these pictures that made me smile and made my heart happy. It reminds me of a favorite quote of mine. "There are many pictures that will capture your eye, but only a few that will really capture your heart. Those are the ones to pursue, those are the ones worth keeping."
Well, if I really had to choose just one, it would be this one of my baby and my husband!
I love soooo many things about this picture. I love her messy hair and her chubby arms, I love how their lips lined up crooked, I love how she's pinching his cheek, I love how her shoe is untied, I love how their eyes are closed, I love the colors, and I love that it's my two most favorite people in the world!! I love, love, love it .......captures my heart every time I look at at!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
